ChristChurch Presbyterian has a cross-committee structure that strives to grow the church through hospitality, gain strength through worship, develop warmth through membership care, create depth through education, increase breadth through service, maintain integrity through administration, maintain our campus, and increase discipline through stewardship.  Most committees meet once per month for an hour.  All members are encouraged to join a committee and share the gifts God has given them.

 

Administration Committee oversees the general operation of the church and its budget.  This committee's goal is to adminsiter the church's financial resources effectively to promote the mission of our congregation.  The committee meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:30pm.  Committee moderator is Ed Janes.

 

Building and Grounds Committee maintains and enhances our property to ensure it is attractive, safe, comfortable, and consistent with the goals of the church.  This committee works with contract resources to keep the property in good repair and hosts work days at the church each year to make minor repairs and clean up the facility.  This committee meets on the third Sunday of each month at 11:30am.  Committee moderator is Bob Reed.

 

Child Development Center (CDC) Committee supervises the work of the CDC.  With the assistance of the CC Director, this committee monitors the CDC budget, communication with CDC parents, and CDC improvements to help make our CDC the best childcare facility available.  This committee meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm.  Committee Moderator is Susan Hightower.

 

Congregational Life Committee promotes the fellowship of our congregation through activities and social events.  This committee plans and carries out Mother's Day and Father's Day recognition, Fourth of July celebrations; after-worship meals, Shepherd Groups, Prents' Night Out, and all senior adult activities.  The committee meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1:30 in the West Wing Room 5.  Committee moderator is Barbara Buckley.

 

Education Committee provides Chirstian education for the church.  This committee oversees Sunday School, special Bible study programs, Junior and Senior High youth fellowship, and opportunities for all ages and levels to grow in faith.  In addition to weekly events, this committee coordinates Eggstravaganza, Rally Day, the Prayer Path, Youth Mission Trips and retreats.  This committee meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:30am in West Wing Room 2/3.  Committee moderator is Jay Bole.

 

Hospitality Committee reaches out to the community and welcomes them to ChristChurch Presbyterian.  They plan outreach activities and provide members with tools for welcoming visitors to ChristChurch.  The committee prepares visitor bags, maintains contact with visitors by phone and letter, and advertises upcoming events at the church.  This committee meets on the second Monday of each month at 7pm.  Committee moderators are Wendell Hearne and Barbara Yantis.

 

Mission Committee is the steward of spiritual gifts.  Out of this committee comes the Mission Mall, Living Waters of the World Mission Trip opportunities, benevolence giving, blood drives, recycling projects and more.  This committee meets on the third Monday of each month at 6:30pm in the Church Office Building.  Committee moderator is Liz Gentry.

 

Personnel Committee works with the pastors on job responsibilities, personnel performance evalutations, personnel self development and policies, staff continuance, long-range and future staffing needs, communication and conflict resolution, and recruiting and hiring of non-ordained staff.  They meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7pm.  This committee is led by John Hellings.

 

Worship Committee assists the church staff in planning worship services that are inspiring and enjoyable for members and visitors.  The Worship Committee plans special worship services throughout the liturgical year including Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Christmas Eve, as well as Jazz Sunday and Kirking of the Tartans.  This committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 4pm in the Church Office Building.  Committee moderator is Anne Reed.
